The air began shimmering out of the way as Derek appeared in it, down in the dank caverns of the Underworld. He had spent a lot of time in those caverns back in his day, searching for his sister, even though everyone else believed that he had given up hope with the rest of them. The truth was, he never had. But since he had been separated from his family due to the fact that he felt uncared for, they didn't talk to him to even know if he was still looking for her. They had all just assumed that he stopped when the rest of them did.
Sighing lightly Derek looked around at the oh-so-familiar walls and rocks and everything. It was just the same, except quite a bit more primative. But, everything was more primative here than when he was from.
He sighed once more, and took a seat on one of the flatter boulders. Derek set his head down in his hands and flicked his eyes closed, just thinking. He hadn't really had time to do that in a while. What with everything going on like Natalie's spell bringing him and his two sister's back from the future, and all. He just really hoped that everything would turn out all right. And in a way, it was already a good thing. Him and Natalie had talked already, which was something that they hadn't done in a long time, since he had always been jealous of her.

"Can I help you?" Apparently, the moment Derek Shimmered down to the Underworld caverns and began to relive his memories of the 'future', he was right in the middle of his Archery Practice. He had small circles drawn in chalk on the cavern walls. He was busy shooting his arrows so that he won't get sloppy on his aim. That was when he was interrupted by Sensing the boy's presence. He waited for a response.

As the voice echoed around the cavern, Derek's head stayed just where it was, resting in his hands. He wasn't really worried about a fireball blowing him up or anything, he would just reform, no big deal. Sure, it was kind of painful to be blown up, but he didn't care right now. But he thought that he ought to reply to the person anyways. "No, not really. Thanks though," he said. Wit was always one of Derek's favorite things. It made life much more interesting.

If there was anything that Shane disliked, it was a witty mouth. Some beings just think they're superior or invincible and thinks he can pull crap talk to others. Shane just hated that about someone. "Well.. I'm so sorry I can't... well.. if that's the case, I'd care for you to get the hell out of this cavern. As you can see, I'm doing something."

Man, this demon, or whatever it is, just doesn't give up... Derek thought to himself as Shane's mouth just ran on about him getting the hell out... or something. To be honest, he didn't really care too much about what the person had to say. He lifted his head lightly from his hands, glaring at Shane. "Does it really look like I care?" He asked, aggravation obviously present in his voice. He had been known to have a nasty side, guess it was just part of his demon background.

"Backbone.... now that's rare... this kind's definitely different." Shane thought about this kid's words and he knew that he was different somehow but different how?... Anyway, he had to continue this. Shane sighed and spoke once more.
"Kid.. don't test me.... I appreciate your backbone... I do but I'm practicing here. Now GO!!! .. this is the last time I'm saying it."

Derek was getting quite upset with this guy who thought that he owned the place or something. He rolled his eyes, placing his head lightly in only one hand this time. "I'm not a kid. Stop calling me that, Damn it!" He said, his voice was very monotone, and never raised or anything, he stayed completely calm. He threw an arm out at Shane, sending an invisible energy wave. Not enough to do any serious damage, but just enough to knock him down.

Shane grunted as some sort of energy targeted him... but he didn't fall. He simply staggered about three steps back and recovered in both body and mind. He sighed and grinned as he looked at the groundand then back at the kid. His crossbow disappeared in a puff of black smoke. He couldn't stop grinning at the kid.
"Kid.... you definitely got spunk.. but you should learn you shouldn't mess with big threats!"
Shane raised his arm and his hand was targeting Derek. He muttered an ancient incantation. Suddenly, these small Dark Orbs appeared in his hand and quickly transferred over to the boy.

Derek looked at the circling black orbs above him. This time he stood up completely. He could not stand people doing magic on him unless he approved it. "What the hell was that?" He yelled at Shane. He opened his hand and a ball of swirling heat particles appeared. The heat emitting from the ball much more powerful than that of a fireball.

"Let's just say that it's something to remember me by... but I don't think that will be the most of your troubles now." He called for a nearby boulder. A large boulder was suddenly replaced by Black Orbs. As it disappeared, Shane tossed his hand towards the kid's direction; the same direction in which the Orbed boulder was sent at.

Derek watched as the boulder formed again, flying at him. He held both his hands straight towards it, and sent invisible energy waves at it. He was hoping that it would dissinigrate it. But instead, the waves hit the boulder, and broke it into little smaller rocks, all flying for Derek. He didn't have time to react, so by the time that he shimmered out, half the rocks had already plowed into his skin. He shimmered in a little ways away in the same cavern, on the ground. He had scratches, and cuts bleeding immensley all over his body. He glared at Shane. "Damn you. That was bad luck," he said, the last part mainly to himself.

"Exactly...." Shane said in a cunning-sounding voice. He rarely used that power on his opponents... but this kid was really getting on his nerves and had too much wit. Shane wasn't gonna have that. "Now..... do you want to leave now?" Shane's crossbow appeared in his hand and he was aiming for the boy. "Or do you have anymore mouth you want to shoot?"

Derek got to his feet, rolling his eyes. "Please, you think that I would just give up?" He rolled his eyes once more, looking around, trying to figure out something to do. Although he was in throbbing pain, with the adrenaline rush of the 'fight' he still had the ability to function. He held his hand out, and an atheme appeared in it. He threw it straight for Shane, hoping that his aim was on. So far it looked like it was going right for his chest.

"Prick," Shane quietly responded to the kid's remarks and actions. Obviously, he never faced a Darklighter.. or the Head Of the Darklighters no less. Shane immediately Black Orbed out; the athame immediately rushing through the small Orbs and landing right in the cavern wall. Shane soon "appeared" behind the kid; his crossbow still in hand. There were a lot more uses for one. Shane immediately took the crossbow and was about to swing it for the kid's head.

Derek could tell that Shane was behind him. And as he heard the light swishing of the cross bow coming for his head, he sent an energy wave at it, knocking it out of Shane's hand, and across the room. He knew that he could just summon it back to him, but at least it wasn't swinging for his head now. Derek shimmered out and back in a little ways away from Shane. "Nice try. But just not good enough," he said, a small smirk on his face.
